Advocate Associates

What is an ‘Advocate Associate’?

An Advocate Associate is an individual who generally is not involved in a role as a Citizen Advocate.  However, they believe in the principles and practices of Citizen Advocacy, and are willing to share their expertise on a periodic basis to Advocates.

Advocate Associates have direct expertise, knowledge, or experience in an area that is helpful to Citizen Advocates and the program, eg. education, finance, insurance and banking, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), psychology, mental health, vocational guidance, housing, social security, legal issues, allied health therapies, voluntary organisations etc.

Capricorn Citizen Advocacy is funded by the Queensland Department of Seniors, Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships
